A BILL to amend and reenact section eighteen, article six,
chapter twelve of the code of West Virginia, one thousand
nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to continuing
the West Virginia board of investments until the first day
of July, one thousand nine hundred ninety-seven.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section eighteen, article six, chapter twelve of the
code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 6. WEST VIRGINIA STATE BOARD OF INVESTMENTS.
§12-6-18. West Virginia board of investments continued.
After having conducted a performance and fiscal audit review
through its joint committee on government operations, pursuant to section nine, article ten, chapter four of this code, the
Legislature hereby finds and declares that the West Virginia
board of investments should be continued and reestablished.
Accordingly, notwithstanding the provisions of section four,
article ten, chapter four of this code, the West Virginia board
of investments shall continue to exist until the first day of
July, one thousand nine hundred ninety-six ninety-seven, to allow
for monitoring of compliance with recommendations contained in
the preliminary performance review and to allow for further
review by the joint committee on government operations.

(NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the West
Virginia Board of Investments until July 1, 1997, to allow for
monitoring of compliance with recommendations contained in the
preliminary performance review and to allow for further review,
pursuant to the West Virginia Sunset Law.
